Beginners:
We welcome beginners and riders who have had a long break. Your first lesson will be on lead and you will be given the chance to get to know the horse and establish balance and confidence. Each rider is different so we believe in allowing riders to progress at their own pace. We will help plan a programme especially for you. Please feel free to discuss any requirements with your instructor.
If you can ride:
We will endeavour to give you as broad a riding experience as possible, covering basic dressage, jumping and hacking.
Lead Rein Lessons :
We offer private lead rein lessons for children aged 4 - 6 years. The lesson will focus on balance and confidence.
Club or Pony Days:
These are held throughout the year and designed for riders of any ability. Here you will be shown how to work with the horse, grooming, tacking up and riding. Giving you a complete horse experience.
Hacks
We offer hacking to riders who have passed our hacking assessment.
Essential information
Safety is always our priority
Here are a few tips to help you come prepared.
Bear in mind that horses are living creatures and may act unpredictably.
Riding is a high risk sport.
When you arrive you will fill in a short form giving all necessary medical and contact details to ensure your riding is enjoyable and safe.
Riding hats should meet current safety standards (BS EN 1384, PAS 015 or ASTM F 1163). If you do not own your own, you may borrow one of ours. We do however advise/encourage you to buy your own if you decide riding is something you would like to do.
Wear a shoe or boot with a low, flat heel. Trainers, sandals or flip-flops and shorts are not allowed.
Jodhpurs, soft jogging bottoms or thick leggings should be worn.
Extra safety equipment such as body protectors are recommended especially for children, but not compulsory.
On arrival please observe the rules of the yard, they are there to help you.
Jewellery should be avoided with the exception of a watch and wedding ring.
Smoking is prohibited anywhere on the yard.
Remember, come prepared, wear clothing that is suitable for the time of year and weather conditions on the day. Bring a coat if it's cold or raining.
